Has anyone noticed there really isnt a 'rock' genre being played in mainstream stuff?
i mean i know theres metal but i mean real rock stuff with a crunch level of distortion not like fuzz. but what i mean is theres bubble gum pop and theres metal on mainstream. theres really no medium anymore. the rock genre has just basically be phased out.
There's metal... then there's rock. What's happened is sub-genres have taken over! i.e. Post-Hardcore, Hardcore, Garage Rock, Nu-Metal, Jam Rock, Alternative Rock.
It's all rock and metal.
Mainstream pisses me off.
