Opinions on bass guitar effects pedal?
I'm looking to buy either a fuzz, or some sort of synth pedal for my bass. Anyone have any ideas?
Hi,I'm a music tutor and professional bass player with 20 years stage experience.
The pedals that i wont play without are as follows,
Compression-This will help you control the basses wide dynamic range(volume),especialy if you use a funk/slap style.
It will keep your sound smooth and even
EQ-This allows a wide range of tone to help emulate many different bass sounds(and used with proper compression settings will allow you to get a fretless feel)
Chorus-This will fatten your sound when used in moderation.
If you play on stage with just one guitarist,then a more agressive setting will fill in the gaps when the guitarist goes into leads
