i have a 96 mustang gt with a mach 460 stereo system i need help?
i have a problem my system still works and all the speakers work.but there is just one problem theres no bass coming from any of the speakers even with the bass turned all the way up what can i do plz help me someone
you have a factory amplified system. the reason you have no bass is because there are two amps in your car that need to be turned on for the bass to work properly. i can't think of the part number right off the top of my head for the metra wire harness. but if you want to integrate into the factory amps, there is a harness that will integrate into the second harness behind the radio. you will need to splice rca ends onto the second harness since the bass amps use a low level input. you will also need to use around a1.2k ohm resistor inline with the remote turn on wire other wise you will have a "turn on thump" since the factory amps only go off of a 6 v turn on and your aftermarket radio provides 12 volts. if you don't know what you're doing i would recommend bringing it a shop that knows what they are doing. unfortunately you don't have a basic car that is easy just to wire up and slide a radio in. if you don't want to integrate into the amps you can bypass everything and change out all of your speakers, which would end up being more costly. its really hard to explain it by typing it, it would be much easier for me to show you or do it for you.
