How does one clean spalted maple salad bowl?
It's a beautiful big bowl that was accidentally stored with some remnant food particles as there are now green patches ingrained in the wood! 
I presume some leftover caesar salad or something which has now gone mouldy and permamently attached itself!
I scrubbed with soapy hot water but will not come clean. Any suggestions out there?
I'd try cleaning it with some white vinegar. Soak a towel with it and rub it in the affected areas. Let the soaked paper towel rest over the area overnight and then try the soap and water again. Only downside here is that I've heard vinegar can bleach some wood tints although I've never had it happen.
