Would a unique picture frame business be profitable/in demand?
I am pondering starting a business creating unique picture frames. I love being creative but I also need to eat. So, I need to know if picture frames are really in demand. I mean, how concerned is the public about picture frames. I am in Richmond, Va. Is there room in the market for a framing business? Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think frames still have a place as people will always love to surround themselves with pictures of their loved ones. Even with the digital pictures, I think many people print the pictures and put in frames those that they treasure best.
To make money from this business, though, you have to have an excellent distribution system. You need to be in department stores, in catalogs, in boutiques and stores both offline and online. I think this is a segmented market with no dominant key players, so you have to be extremely crafty in look and style, and very savvy in your distribution.
